Curtis R Kemeny - Principal/Development
Mr. Kemeny grew up in a family real estate business and served as an acquisition officer and project manager for Cohen Development Corporation, where he was involved in the development and management of over $250M in residential and commercial real estate assets in the Boston area. His projects included 360 Newbury Street, The Brook House, The Esplanade, Lincoln Plaza, and 1330 Beacon Street. He was also a senior member of the global health care practice at the Boston Consulting Group.
Mr. Kemeny grew up in Brookline, Massachusetts and has lived in New York and Los Angeles. Mr. Kemeny received a BA magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Dartmouth College in 1984 and received an MBA from Harvard in 1989 where he graduated with honors.
Mr. Kemeny serves as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Boston Conservatory of Music. He is also on the Board of Trustees for the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston. His professional affiliations include memberships in BOMA, RHA, NAIOP, and GBREB.
Edward Sarno - Principal/CFO
Mr. Sarno is the Principal and Chief Financial Officer of Boyd/Smith, Inc., where he
is responsible for the finances and financial operations of Church Park’s
residential, commercial, and parking facilities.
During his twenty-eight years with Boyd/Smith, Edward Sarno has led four refinancings, generating over $100MM in proceeds to the United Company Partnership.
Mr. Sarno has also been involved in the development and management of over $200MM in other residential and commercial properties in the Boston area during his career.
Mr. Sarno received a BA from Salem State College in 1981 and an MBA from Bentley University in 1987.
Mr. Sarno is a member of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board, the Rental Housing Association, and the National Apartment Association. He served ten years as President of St. Anthony’s School Board and Finance Board. He is currently President of the Southerlee Shores Condominium Association and is a member of the Isaiah’s Ark Team of Lake Winnipesaukee, dedicated to children fighting cancer.
Mr. Sarno and his wife Joanne have a daughter and reside in Malden.
William D. Smith - Principal and Property Manager
Mr. Smith is the Principal and Property Manager of Boyd/Smith Inc., and
is responsible for overseeing the physical structure of the company’s
flagship property, Church Park, with its 508 luxury residential units, 75,000
square feet of commercial/retail space, and six-story parking garage as well as all other company assets.
During William Smith’s twenty-plus year tenure at Boyd/Smith, Inc., he has also been involved with the development and management of over $100MM in additional residential and commercial properties in the Boston area and its suburbs.
Mr. Smith received a BA from Boston College in 1990 and an MBA from Loyola University in 1999.
Mr. Smith is an active member in the community and serves on the Board of Trustees for the Brighton Y.M.C.A, and a member of the Rental Housing Association and the Greater Boston Real Estate Board, and a former member of the Berkley College Task Force. He is the founder and former President of the Massachusetts Avenue Shines Neighborhood Group, an organization made up of local business owners established to improve the community.
Mr. Smith remains an active Boston College alumnus and strong supporter of Boston College athletics.
He and his wife Colleen have two children and reside in Lexington, Massachusetts.
